Correct preparation to remove debris from any pipeline
prior to a corrosion survey is essential. Careful planning and preparation
minimises the risk of a smart or intelligent pig becoming stuck and the quality
of data being degraded due to sensor damage or sensor lift off. The cost of a
re-run can be very expensive whilst the consequences of a smart or intelligent
pig becoming stuck can be catastrophic.
Depending on the age, condition and history of a pipeline, we can
provide full proving, gauging and cleaning services. Pigtek adopt a very
progressive approach to pre-inspection cleaning to minimise the risk of a pig
becoming stuck, or the pipeline becoming blocked due to a build up of too much
debris being removed too soon.
