Correct preparation to remove debris from any pipeline prior to a corrosion survey is essential. Careful planning and preparation minimises the risk of a smart or intelligent pig becoming stuck and the quality of data being degraded due to sensor damage or sensor lift off. The cost of a re-run can be very expensive whilst the consequences of a smart or intelligent pig becoming stuck can be catastrophic.
